Welcome to My Elementary Special Education Blog

This site is for students and parents to access information regarding assignments, lessons, and extra work outside of the classroom.

Students will find information on lessons and assignments we are doing in class that they may have missed and resources for extra help, as well as a calender of events for the upcoming months.

Parents can stay up to date with what the students are participating in in the classroom and additional practice for them outside of the classroom. Also a calender of events and volunteer information is available.

Enjoy!!

Week of February 22

Learning Shapes

We visited a website that introduced us to different shapes and connected them with common objects with that specific shape. We reviewed some things within in the classroom that have specific shapes.

Example: C-D, Cookie, Clock=Circle. Picture frame, window, rug=Square, Piece of Pizza, Letter "A"=Triangle.

We did this with more complex shapes as well, such as ovals and rectangles.

A good way to review would be to find common objects around the house and have the student name the different shapes of each object. (I suggest following the link below first, so you're aware of the shapes we went over).

Below is the link. Have fun!
